No sparks on plug in, which is good, and no problem with unplugging. Man that thing really picks up the leaves. I have a new set coming in, what I think I'll do is wire up a second pair of plugs on the back of the tractor to the front contactor. That way I can plug things like the tiller in the back, and still have the always connected one for things like the extra battery block.
Back to work! Oh and the pack is lasting longer now that I charged up that low cell. Need to do the same thing on the remaining two packs, can take awhile to get done.

Actually the Anderson SB50 and PowerPole 75 series connectors (same terminals different shells) are UL rated to carry up to 120 amp (6 awg) and hot plug 50 amp (250 cycles).A contactor is definitely needed. Personally, I consider any connector under load an emergency disconnect, not a switch. I would run the negative terminal of the Anderson to battery pack negative and the positive terminal to the tractor's PTO contactor (not the dryer plug).Tim M On 11/13/2019 9:51 PM, David Roden wrote:On 13 Nov 2019 at 21:16, Chris Zach wrote:Um... no. The power drain was for the whole tractor. Deck, drive motor, and blower. Somehow I doubt it's pulling that much.Ah, OK, that's not quite so bad. But I suspect that you're still drawing something in the 80-100 amp range through that 50 amp connector.
