I
took the low budget, brute force approach here. A low profile
European automotive battery that was mounted to a board atop the front
ET batteries. Just fit safely under the hood. A 40 A
two way radio fuse holder, a pair of NAPA rubber utility lamps
mounted on either side of the aluminum casting /
grille, restuffed with 4509 Av Landing lamps. (
100W each.), all connected with #12 wire. I charged the lighting battery with another charger, to keep things simple, plus avoid any issues with dimming due to any ET loading. Simple, but elegant. :) RJ On 2/17/2016 5:51 PM, Charlie wrote:
LED headlights are a perennial topic. Here's a few links - just google "elec-trak LED lights" to find more. http://www.ge-electrak.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=398 http://www.elec-trak.com/forum/showthread.php?4772-LED-Headlight-Possibility http://cosmos.phy.tufts.edu/mhonarc/elec-trak/msg16890.html http://www.elec-trak.com/forum/showthread.php?5377-led-headlights http://www.elec-trak.com/forum/showthread.php?4876-LED-bulb-replacement I tried 36volt 3-LED bulb replacements with the correct socket configuration, bought online, and they didn't work worth a damn. They'd light up on the ~40 volts from the elec-trak charger, but cut out completely at almost exactly 36 volts. One of the virtues of incandescent bulbs is that they still work when your batteries are getting tired, they just get dimmer. LEDs are usually less forgiving! --Charlie On Tue, Feb 16, 2016 at 9:52 AM, PH via Elec-trak <elec-trak cosmos phy tufts edu> wrote:Hi All, Yesterday I wanted to plow at 6am, but discovered that both headlights had burned out. I finally found a spare GE1076 in my junk box. Has everyone tested a LED bulb replacement for the GE1076 or replaced the complete ET headlight assembly with a multi-LED unit?
