I have mulching/Gator blades on one of my decks (Oregon brand equivalent). They work great. Don't seem to draw any more power on the gauge. I'm sure they draw a little more though. I would recommend.

I'm no expert on this stuff, but from what I've seen, most ICE mowers have
blades with fairly aggressive lift. OTOH, ET blades are flat. I'd guess
that the ICE blades would need significantly more power (and use more
energy).

IIRC, someone on this list was experiementing with ICE-type blades on the ET
some years back. (Gator brand maybe?) Anyone recall the outcome of that
test?
