Re: (ET) More Power Inverters

They only sell direct. So you have to be able to unload it from the tractor trailer. I imagine it's the only way they can keep the price at least somewhat decent.
The wet parts are all stainless, it's easy to fix (though I haven't
needed to). I don't plan on ever buying another washer. It's easier on
the clothes than a 'normal' top loader and uses way less water and
electricity. The clothes are drier after spinning than other washers. I
feel good owning it and using it. It was almost traumatic taking my old
washer (a front loader White-Westinghouse) to the dump; I had kept it
going over 20 years. This is an investment that will pay off over time.
I buy cheap Chinese stuff too; it's hard not to. But when I buy a
'durable good' I try to buy something that will truly be durable.
Ok, I'm getting off the soapbox.. and I'll try to get back on topic.....

The Staber unit sounds like an interesting machine, a top loader but
horizontal axis operation. I had not heard of this company and I
guess my Lowe's here in South Central Kentucky doesn't seem to know
about it either. As much as I hated buying a high dollar item made in
China ($800 is high dollar to me), saving over $500 over Staber's
bottom line unit will allow me to buy a set of T-105's, some gasoline
and Sta-Bil for my generator.

How about:

http://www.staber.com/

recommended to me by one of our illustrious members. And a fine machine
as well. And uses very little energy - they spec it to run off an
inverter (1500W inverter recommended). Not a cheap machine, not
inexpensive either!

when a German based company is the only one.
