Another thing to watch for if drawing down a battery that quickly is
heating. Again if you have 5 millohms of internal resistance that's 800W
going into the battery. A battery has a lot of mass but with that kind of
power it's going to start heating up. By way of comparison electrical
space heaters run about 1500W.
The test may not have been long enough to cause much heat buildup. The
test sounded as if it were short enough that the battery could heat up
internally and have it take a while for the heat to make it to the outside
case.
