I recently sent 3
mower deck motors into Bill for repair work. Bill had determined that the
motors had spent some time "Under Water" and were not worth rebuilding.
The deck came with my E20 purchase last Fall and had not yet been used by me
this year. Bill suggested that he could put together 3 replacement motors
for me out of his stock. He put new bearings etc., in motors and checked
them all out on his test equipment. Well, needless to say I have used the
deck on three occassions now and had one of the motors freeze up on me.
Took it apart and found a magnete has shattered on one can. Bill wants
$105 for a new can with magnetes, ouch! I need the motor to help manage my
12 acres of property and went ahead and placed the order with him.
Does anyone have
spare deck motors that they would like to sell? Has anyone else
experienced the magents failing? Bill's comment was "Yea, that happens
sometimes."
Thanks,
Bob
