Re: (ET) Oops, I melted the connector



Yeah, I'm starting to agree on this one. The main contactor can handle the snowblower so it should be able to handle the much smaller blower. I'll get some 8 gauge welding cable and wire it up properly to the primary disconnect and reserve the anderson plug for smaller loads and the extra battery.

A contactor is definitely needed. Personally, I consider any connector under load an emergency disconnect, not a switch. I would run the negative terminal of the Anderson to battery pack negative and the positive terminal to the tractor's PTO contactor (not the dryer plug).

Ah, OK, that's not quite so bad.  But I suspect that you're still drawing
something in the 80-100 amp range through that 50 amp connector.
