I'll let this be an experiment. If it fails I'll get copper lock washers for maximum conductivity. Or another copper bolt and double bolt it.

You really don't want to dispense with lock washers on a vehicle that jolts
and vibrates.  You'll be back in the same place before long.

Smart EV folks use lock washers on bolted connections.  I'll use split
washers in a pinch, but my preference is for either Bellville (dished)
washers or wave washers.  I keep a supply of them on hand in the sizes I'm
most likely to need.
