Re: (ET) battery terminal question

Sounds like you are getting a film of oxide./corrosion building up.

Are you coating the terminal post with a protective film of special grease before putting the clamp on?

Most auto shops sell small sachets of a red grease, especially for this purpose. For example I buy a product called 'Counterman's choice' Battery protector from my local Napa store.

Should stop the problem, and should be used on all battery terminals. No white oxide, no corrosion, no problems! ;-)

Once upon a time there was a mold that could be used to recast the terminal, have no idea if they are still around. Had that done by a battery service guy when I melted the terminal on the tractor once.

Wonder, if you cut away most of the terminal, put a clamp over the rest with maybe a piece of pop can as a liner inside and recast it if that would work ???
