That would work. A simpler approach might be to get a 36V battery-powered string trimmer and use it alone or plugged into the pack. I have a B&D 36V string trimmer that is very robust that I'm happy with. It runs for ~20 min per charge. My only concern is if you plug it into the pack, I have no idea how it would like being run for longer periods. Simply checking with a hand on the gear case would tell.
