OK, I am in the process of putting my E-20 back together after a complete tear down for a frame weld job. I am having problems with the steering gears meshing properly and have heard others talk about shimming them. My question is exactly what do you shim? The large fan shaped gear is pinned to the shaft and doesn’t look like it can be moved forward any. The pinion gear and the fan gear are not close enough causing the two to not mesh properly and are causing me headaches. How do I tighten this thing up?
Thanks,
Bob K
