Re: (ET) E20 Wiring Diagram

Hi Matt,

I put an Alltrax DCX-300ET into my E15 during December of 2004.  Since the tractor wasn't running when I acquired it in November, I can't actually say how much better the Alltrax controller is than stock contactors and cam-driven switches.  But I can tell you that it is now a great tractor.

Anyway my understanding is that Steve Richardson developed the modifications to the DCX-300 to make it the DCX-300ET in order to make it the appropriate unit for an E15.  The only reason I can think of that an E20 might be preferable is that the E20 already has a foot pedal mounted which might be adapted to control the "throttle pot" which is a required part, optionally available from Alltrax or from Curtis, or other sources.  Alltrax re-sells the Curtis unit (at least that's what I got).

See my web page about my installation if you want more info:
http://jpjt.net/et/
and if you have further questions I'll be happy to try to answer them.

When Raymon said "Go to: https://cosmos.phy.tufts.edu/mailman/listinfo/elec-trak and you will learn " I think he may have been talking about using the search facility associated with the email list archive.  I found it very powerful and helpful to try different combinations of search terms and see what turned up.

Best,
Joel

Matt, you need to talk to Steve at Alltrax Inc for info on the controllers now available. Mine is the DCX300-ET which was the choice at the time of purchase. Go to: https://cosmos.phy.tufts.edu/mailman/listinfo/elec-trak and you will learn all about the controller upgrade. Best regards, Raymon

Raymon

What is the info. on the controller from Steve Richardson?

I've got an E-15 that I'd like to add a controller to.  Or maybe I'll get an E20 and use the controller.  Is it a powerfull controller?

Thanks,

Ralph I have tried to copy your C.C. Button setup on my E20 as shown on your web site page 5. I just cannot hold my foot still enough on my rough lawn with only the pedal.  I have installed a dash potentiometer same as the one inside the box which is connected to the pedal and a relay connected to the C.C. switch so I can move to dash control when on the lawn. I have everything except the diode you show holding power to Pin 5. Will you tell me what value to ask for and where to purchase the diode?  My replacement controller from Steve Richardson seems to be OK. I occasionally get a red led flash but it switches back to green after a moment or two. I just need the dash control to complete the job. You know that my electronic knowledge is poor but my drive is strong and unstoppable.  I soldered an available diode onto a small phenolic board along with the light resistor where Card 4 was mounted. My C.C. light works OK but the diode was not right. Will you give me a hand on this? Thanks, Raymon
