RE: (ET) E20 and tongue weight
Chris,
I currently have the weightbox mounted/strapped right behind the seat as
it makes the overall length of the tractor shorter which is important when
taking up winter garage space. When I need to get into the rear battery
box it's only a matter of some grunting and lifting of 4" x 4" x 10" lead
bars to emnpty the box. I am in the process of fabricating a welded metal
support tray to slot into the rear of the tractor frame (same as the rear
lift assembly). I'm sure this is strong enough as I have loaded up my
rear hitch whhich is raised and lowered by my rear lift assembly with well
over 400 pounds without a problem. Wasn't pretty and tended to make the
steering marginal but still strong enough. I'll try and post some pics
soon.

Bob:
Did you hang this off the rear stabs, or did you use something like the
tiller bar? I've been bouncing around the yard with 150lbs of extra
batteries in the rear weight box (part traction, part steering), and
have been wondering if I'm doing damage to the stab slots.
On my E20, the rear tow point is basically a flat bit of steel that
connects back to the U shaped bracket under the rear battery box. While
the rear bracket seems totally strong, I don't think I would trust the
steel plate to not buckle with anything over 100lbs or so.
