The problem with using a foot throttle with a DCX 300 controller is from the tractor bouncing, or your foot bouncing even on smooth ground. The original foot controller on the E20 had a heavy return spring and an adjustable drag built into it. It also had only eight speeds so it wasn't affected by small movements.

The pot assembly that is an option with the Alltrax is very sensitive to small movements. Its spring is weak and that causes the weight of the foot pedal to move the pot setting when the tractor bounces. A heavy spring added under the foot pedal will help some. If you can remove the microswitches from the original controller and hook a cable from your pot down to the slide inside the old throttle box, you can adjust the spring and drag to elliminate some of the bounce.

Mounting a throttle on the steering column or dash should stop all bounce problems. A foot throttle and a dash throuttle cruise control worked best for me, since I already had the foot throttle installed and it bounced. And I thought a cruise control would be neat anyway.
