All, Just a thought on the discussion group/web site issue:
If we use Wiki it would enable the group to collaboratively
create/update/maintain a large chunck of the group's web site. It
provides a system where all authorized users can edit/create pages with
a fairly simple editor using a standard browser. Remembering the open
source documentation discussion we had, it would be straightforward to
create the hierarchy and all the sections with Wiki - and appropriate
folks could contribute to the various sections.
Don,
You should be able to install a free version of Wiki on the
elec-trak.org site with it's own home directory and then just have a
link from the main page to the Wiki section.
thoughts?

Isn't there already a group on Yahoo, if not maybe that would be a
place
to start on.
Yes. It's called electrakgardentractors. I would not recommend using
it for anything, though, because the moderator has disappeared and
doesn't respond to requests. That means that, for example, if someone
starts sending spam there will be no way to get it stopped. Yahoo has
essentially zero customer support -- it is impossible to get a new
moderator appointed to a group whose moderator has vanished. I have
had this problem extensively on other Yahoo groups.
