Re: (ET) EGT 200

Phil,
Find the model number of your tractor.
Looked at the drawings for ET model 26AE20CA & DA.
That's the closest thing I have to the EGT-200.
The only thing I see on the print is a MOV (metal oxide varistor)
mounted on card number 3. It is for spike suppression.
Aka transient voltage suppression. Also called VDR-1 on the prints.
It would look like a red or orange disc capacitor.
It is connected between points 1 & 7 on the card.
There are 4 or 5 resistors and that disc on the card.
If that has burned you have a motor problem.
A lot of sparking at the brushes.
The MOV is the only thing I see on the prints that would even
look like a capacitor. The MOV number should look like
V130LA20A, I do not have the exact number.  Mine are
all painted. But 20 mm discs are listed in Newark, and other catalogs.
There is only 2 cards in the E-20 numbered 3 and 4.

In another book I have for the 26AE20EA.
There is a separate strip for the diode and varistor assembly.
And the resistors are on a card by themselves.
There is also a note that at some time the VDR was installed on card 4
"to facilitate manufacturing."

Hope this helps.

What looks like a capacitator under the dash, on the far right terminal block has disintegrated. Now the tractor continues at startup speed, (as if on cruise control), after the throttle is released. The only way to stop the tractor is "disconnect" or switch to reverse! I unplugged the black wire to the cruise control terminal (2nd block from far right) & the throttle works properly but, startup speed is very harsh, too fast, & of course cruise control is disabled. Does anyone have a schematic with values so I can replace the capacitator, if that is what it was before it crumbled to pieces? Have used this tractor since 1979 for lawn & light snow plowing & have gotten kind of attached to it! & would like to fix it.                    Thanks Phil
