Could you have a short in the wiring or one motor shorting? If you remove
the motor tops and disconnect all wires do they still have the same
resistance with "fast spin" ?

The blade clutch can be tough to remove you have to pull from top of clutch
and not the flange. May need penatrating oil or heat or both.
