Re: (ET) AllTrex On

Hello Ralph,

Congratulations on your installation !

I felt the standard ramp rates (for golf cars) was a bit abrupt also on my E-15.  I have mine turned down to 2 I believe.  The ramp rate is programmed in by the test stand we use to test the controllers.  After more of us have used the controller in the ET's and we find a ramp rate that we all think is the best for most applications, I can re-program the tester to set the ramp at the level we desire.  Our goal is to provide you with a product that comes out of the box and works the way you want it to without having to "Program" the controller.  After users get use to the way the controller operates I imagine that some may want to raise the envelope a little for more action or fun.

Ralph did you get the software down loaded ok?  Please let me know if you had any problems because of our website.  You will find the controller is really easy to change once you get the software set up on you computer.  Remember you can power up the controller on the desktop with a 12 battery or two nine volt batteries in series and make changes to the settings before you even install the unit.  You should have received a diagram showing how to hook up the two nine volt batteries.  If not please let me know !

Thanks for your report !  Looking forward to your pictures also !

Subject: (ET) AllTrex On

I finnished Installing my Alltrex Today.  I rewired the entire E20 using larger wiring.  The power meter was always reading in the red so I replaced the old metal shunt with a 20 inch long piece of #6 wire.  The meter now reads in the range where it should be.  I think the metal shunt changes resistance with age.

The Alltrax worked good on the test run.  but if I shift from forward to reverse, or reverse to forward without stoping first it changes direction very fast.  Hold on tight.  That might be good in an emergency but its not something I would want to do very often.  The tractor handled it good though.

It does go a little faster than the old controls did.  I couldn't mount my Alltrex on the left side like Steve's, E15, it hit the PTO relay.  It had to go on the right side a bit little lower.  I hope to have some pictures soon, (camera broke).  I made some other changes to that I will Talk about after I test (debug) them.

Ralph
