Re: (ET) More on wheelweights

Hi Steve,
I also want my wheels 'in' to keep the drive wheels on cleared ground.  Looking at the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2574846421&category=11756
there is a picture of the parts that come with the adapter.
It seems to me that getting 8 longer bolts might permit the wheels to stay in the 'in' direction and the adapter to be attached against the wheel hub.
What do you think?

I was looking at my tractor this weekend, and I noticed my wheels are turned
'in' so that my track width is small. This causes the hubs to stick out
substantially beyond the square mounting holes. I believe, in this case, one
would need spacers to get the weight mount bracket out beyond the hub. The
spacer length would be several inches (I didn't measure). I don't know if
this causes any problems or not.

The alternative of course is to turn the wheels 'out' (wide track), but then
I'm concerned that the track exceeds the snowblower width, and I've learned
that once the wheels get out of the blown path, traction decreases rapidly
(weights added or not).

How do the rest of you set the wheels with the snowblower?

Apparently, one can put four 10lb weights plus one 25lb weight on each

side. I quote:

"Use 10-pound plates inside the wheel and 25-pound plates after clearing

the outer edge of the wheel/tire. The typical wheel allows four, 10-pound
plates and one, 25-pound plate per wheel (plus 5 pounds for each adapter)."

The item is slightly more expensive on eBay, I guess because of eBay fees.
I am going to see if I can obtain these weights BEFORE I buy the adapters.

I just measured - it appears the 8 ½ inch spacing with four holes is the
one for my E-15 - and they carry it. I think I'll probably order a

set. It

much, but every little bit helps. Maybe I should just drink a lot more

beer

and gain the 100 lbs. It would be >more fun.
By the way, I turned the rear wheels on my E-15 "inside out" to widen

the

track and increase lateral stability with a bucket loader.

Two more things about the wheel weights,
1.) The wheels on and ET are the same as Wheelhorse, may even have been
made by Wheelhorse and there is detailed instruction on how to size the
wheel.
2.) The site has a freight calculator section and shipping is not too
bad if you use FEDEX ground, it was $11.95 to Buffalo.
