RE: (ET) Steering gear skips. Fixable?



I have seen the suggestion here, I believe, that the big diameter "punch outs" from electrical panel boxes will, in fact, fit the shim application perfectly.  I haven't tried it, but will have to in the near future.

It isn't hard to do,  Had to do it to my e-12m.  I would recommend getting a few different thickness washers. (from real thin to over size).  Then you can mix and match until you get the right size to take up the slack.

            Yes.  You need to move shims from the rear of the " fan shaped gear" to the front.
