I've done it and its very simple.
Disconnect the brake rod at the brake caliper on rear axle.
Remove shift knob.
Loosen rear wheel bolts
Jack up the tractor under the rear axle (an roll around jack is real useful
for this). Put axle stands under the tractor frame (not the axle)
Remove rear wheels
Loosen the electric motor mounts, slide it back a bit, and remove drive
belts
Remove bolts holding axle to frame.
Lower axle with jack.
Wrestle rear axle out from under tractor
