hi peter,  no. the blade bolt turns in the standard direction, counter 
clockwise to take off.  they can be real tight.  
    regarding the lift problem, i'd say cut the strap, i have a 
replacement 
here you can have.  or, unbolt the front bumper and the lift will come 
with
