Re: (ET) battery charger controller

If you need an inexpensive 'charger' to get by, Fair Radio
is selling a 0-150v (~1kw, but 20A max) surplus army
unit that I've found useful. It's basically a multitap transformer,
with no 'smarts'. $50.

from their website:

0-135 VDC 15 Amps PP-1659A BATTERY CHARGER, used to charge storage
batteries; produces unregulated 0-135 VDC 15 amp output from 115/230 VAC
50-60 Hz 15 amp input. Has 2.5" dia meters 0-150 VDC and 0-20 amps DC,
Coarse and Fine 12-step controls, plus 115/230 V input selector switch.
Input and Output each have circuit breaker; with power cord. 12x11x12, 60
lbs sh. USED, $49.50 Manual repro, $10.00

Several EV list members have bought them.
