Re: Fwd: Reciprocity Collaborative, well, collaboration!

When watching the example they sent, I wondered whether a pew was wide enough to have eight positions from side to side.  I could imagine a view from behind like this of eight people in eight pews, each tracing the line of a bell by moving side to side.  From the back, the heads would cross as bells cross.  Eight (or six) people could all sit in one pew and keep changing their order, but that would involve a lot of jostling.  I also thought the heads all looked the same in their example.  Perhaps the interweaving lines would show better if you chose ringers whose hair all looked different from the back or added a rainbow of hats to the mix.

Anyhow, I had fun trying to imagine ringing in pews.  Greetings and best wishes to you!

Hi! Here is a more formal pitch, including an example of what the “sliding” is.

Hi Ricky,

No worries at all.

Thank you for agreeing to pitch our idea to the guild. To make it simple I wanted to share some more language and details that can be easily sent along if you wish:

Date: A morning in September or October, pending confirmation of the Old North group tour calendar

Prompt: Physicalizing a bell method of your choosing, for 8 ringers, in the sanctuary. Exploring simple gestures of things looking, turning, and sliding in the pews at varying tempos.

Offering: We would love to support the work of the guild with a humble offering of $300.

Example: Here is an example from our public event in May where we invited folks to respond to the slide prompt in an open-ended structure. People were moving according to their own desires here, whereas with you all we are thinking about using the bell methods as a possible framework for movement.

Attached: A formal invitation from The Reciprocity Collaborative.

Many thanks,
