Pittsburgh's annual ringing course this year will be the weekend of
5-7 August.

It is aimed at those learning to ring Plain Bob (doubles or above), or
ready to make that transition. The emphasis is not on complexity or
even the method Plain Bob itself, but rather on acquiring the skills
necessary to ring at this level well. Students will be asked to do
some study beforehand, and no time will be spent on theory. Rather,
students will be expected to have already learned that, and be in a
position to put it into practice. A variety of exercises other than
just ringing Plain Bob will be used to help learn how to move a bell
appropriately and strike well in Plain Bob. The skills learned in
doing this translate quickly to other simple methods, and must be
deeply mastered to ring more complicated methods well.

Students should be at least comfortable ringing plain hunts on at
least five with a cover. Students well above that level, but who still
find ringing Plain Bob a challenge, will also benefit.
