[Palindrome] The Binderminder
The role of Binderminder is absolutely crucial to our team's success. As
the Hunt progresses, papers get scattered about, puzzles are taken halfway
to a solution and then abandoned, and so on. The Binderminder cracks the
whip, reminding people to put their half-solved work in the master binder,
so that those who pick up a puzzle don't have to start from scratch.
As important as the Binderminder is -- and I say again, it is *very*
important -- it is not the most attractive job in the world. "By golly, I'm
there to solve puzzles, not become some kind of crazy secretary." Believe
me, I understand. And yet, we absolutely need a Binderminder.
I propose the following: The role of Binderminder be divided up among a
number of volunteers.
Let's assume that the Hunt will be divided up into several rounds. If we
have one person making sure Round 1 stays organized, and another keeping a
close eye on Round 2, and so on, then no one person will be burdened with
the Binderminder title for the entire Hunt.
Since you only have to look after, say, 15 puzzles instead of 150, this
should make minding your part of the binder a *MUCH* easier task.
So! Can I get five volunteers to take on this important job? Obviously, we
might need more, or less, but five should do to start. (And if the Hunt has
some wacky non-round-oriented structure this year, we'll figure out what to
do about that when the time comes.)
Thanks all.
