You might be able to reconnect the damaged battery TEMPORARILY.

If there is still some lead (battery post) above the top of the batterycase, you could run a large damage self tapping screw through a lug/ringterminal. I have also seen (but don't recommend beyond temporary) aside terminal to top terminal/post battery adapter being threaded in toa damage deep cycle battery.
