To be honest, I run my lift right off the 36 volt pack. It's a series 
wound motor so you just get double the torque of 18v. And it pulls half 
the amps on the wires for the same load.

The trick is you need to derate the lift fuse. Don't use a 30a fuse, use 
a 15 or 20 tops. That way if the switch sticks and the lift goes up all 
the way it won't rip the deck apart.
