Re: (ET) Ok, which way do the blades go?

Regardless of what any pictures say, I'm pretty sure that the cutting portion of the blades has to be the lowest point.   (mulching blades are an exception)   Otherwise, after the grass was cut, it would be again hit by what can only be described as the worlds dullest blade.   (the center portion of the blade, which is either a nice radius, or just the edge of a flat bar.)

Ah, maybe that's it. The reason is this:

In order to have the blades with the lowest tip point towards the grass
I had to mount them so they spin CCW from the view of the bottom of the
motor.

All three of my motors were spinning the wrong way when mounted in my
new deck. I had to change the wires to make it fit properly.

Looking at the instructions included with my new blades it looks like
the lowest point should be facing the motor, not the grass.

So maybe that's the way to do it for mid-mount decks, but not front-mount?

Meantime the new blades are nice. Much sharper and better balanced,
there is still some vibration from one of my newer motors and I'll have
to figure that out sometime. But lots better.
