(ET) Field weakening

Hi,
I updated my E-16 with an Altrax controller. I turned off the field 
weakening as I did not like how sudden it engaged and disengaged. To get 
the speed back up I also installed a .76 ratio cog belt drive as well. 

I was doing some plowing and it seemed like the motor was working more 
than it did in the past. In fact it kicked out the main thermal on the 
drive motor. Now my question. Does the motor have more power with field 
weakening enabled or just more speed? I want to come up with the best 
combo when performing high drive motor loads.
