The part of the tab that is visible looks corroded.  If the surface
touching the battery terminal is also, that could be the cause of your
high resistance.  Certainly clean off any corrosion before putting
high-current wires together, and it's always a good idea to brush the
mating surfaces with a wire brush even if they look clean, just to be
sure.  Otherwise it's hard to know.  Things do loosen sometimes and once
the terminal gets hot the lead will soften and the problem will get
worse.
