(ET) Ok, 400a fuse it is...
Didn't hear back on thoughts, and given that my tractor now has an AIR
of over 4,000 amps with the 4 strings of BB600's I figured it was time
to buy a real fuse.
So I just ordered a 400a Class T fuse holder with a 400a JLLN fuse in
it. The rating on the fuse is 20,000 amps at 125 volts DC, which is well
within the range of an Elec-trak. I thought about going with a much
cheaper ANL type fuse, but those have an AIR of only 2,700 amps max
which as I saw years ago can lead to a very large and nasty plasma arc
that will not. go. out.
Anyone know what the AIR is for the stock fusable link?
