Re: (ET) Curtis controller mod

Your memory is right on Charlie.  Nick & I did a motor rebuild guide and I believe it was Robert Troll that did the controller write up.  I can send the motor guide to anyone who needs it.  You do need some special tools however and of course spare parts.

There is definitely a superb how-to on rebuilding mower motors; I think it's by Jeff Antonucci and Nick Skinner, but I could be misremembering.   Color pictures and everything!  Check the elec-trak owner's club website.

I think Robert Troll made a wiki on Curtis controllers, but again my memory is not notably reliable.

Has anyone done a detailed "how to" on updating an Elec-Trak to a Curtis controller, including a parts list? I've been searching some, and have found some descriptions, but nothing as detailed as I would like if I were to embark on such an endeavor.

Also, is there a "how to" on rebuilding a mower motor? From a little searching, I've learned that getting them apart is quite a hassle itself. Seems like rebuilding those mower motors might help a lot with reducing power consumption.

Thanks,

Mike
