Re: (ET) Well that doesn't work



Is there more than one kind of Elec-trak charger transformer?  I might be able to roust one up for you closer than Pittsburgh, but it could be from an E8 or something.  It had a black plywood base as I recall...

*nod* Did that last fell. Nothing open, however it is possible that one of the windings has shorted to itself somewhere along the line. I'll see if I can post resistance values.

Yup. It is what was in there when I got it.

3. Check the diodes.

Both were replaced.

I think the transformer is shot. For the short term I'll charge with the little bench supply (2a max), then figure out if I can build or buy a 120v to 50v power supply for it. Getting 48v actually should not be a problem as that's what telco equipment runs at and that would be a lot closer to what a flooded NiCD needs...
