                   You will find the Av lamps more than adequate, even with the narrow beam spread. :) Note that they do have an anticipated lifespan of about 25 hours. I have replaced mine twice since the initial install in 1987.

             The utility lamp holders are still available at NAPA. Not finding an illustration at NAPA, this is a link to a similar product.

                 Note that early on in usage, you will smell the volatile components of the rubber cooking off with the 4509 bulbs installed. This will diminish after a few hours of continuous usage at 20 degrees F or colder. :)

Don't forget that you'll also need some kind of bucket for them.

Big downside: they have a very narrow beam spread, only 12 degrees 
horizontal, 6 deg vertical.
