Re: (ET) E15 status, tough shifting

Late controls are simpler and much more reliable. The early E-15 tractors and the E-12 S tunted have all the woes associated with the field reversing relay. For now, get the contactor replaced and go from there. It just might HAVE to be there for the Field Weakening relay to do its job.

Early controls or late?

For shifting with the gears? Never thought there was a diff. I think early, it has the SCRs and all that I rebuilt awhile ago. The speed 3 problem is the contactor, I can hear it trying to click and I see 36 volts on the contactor coil when speed 3 is engaged but it's not cutting out. It does however lurch more with speed 3 disabled so I will have to buy a new contactor.
