(ET) Gel Batteries

Hi David,
I'm building an ET for my better half and I was thinking about using gel 
batteries (I'm designing my own charger). I was wondering if you had 
lead/acid batts before as a power comparison and how the gels held up so 
far?

On another note, when I built my off grid battery box that is in my basement 
I lined the inside perimeter with ICE Shield. For those of you who don't 
know, it's a rubberized material we use it in cold climates on the edges and 
valleys of our roof under the shingles to keep water damage at bay. It's not 
cheap stuff but I had a roll from when I did my garage. One side has an 
adhesive and you can cut it into strips and overlap each strip to make a 
water proof seal. This is what I did on my off grid battery box and it seems 
to have worked out well.

I've had zero battery box corrosion problems, probably because I use gel
batteries.  I don't recommend charging them with the stock ET charger,
though.
