Re: (ET) Leaf Collection

Indeed. I have an Elec-trak sweeper I can use, the problem is it fills up instantly and then needs to be driven out back to dump. Which isn't bad in the back yard but is impossible in the front. Also I think the motor on the Elec-trak sweeper runs the brushes way too fast; I've been thinking about ways to slow it down. 24 volt tap does work well actually.

What I do now is this:

Use the bagger on the Craftsman, but run 50 gallon drum liners instead of the little bins.
When full, dump the leaves into the Elec-trak E-15's trailer.
I can usually get 100 gallons of leaves, plus 2 bags in the trailer.
Drive to back, dump, and mulch with the E-20's mower deck
Repeat :-)

With my son on the Elec-trak this can happen fairly in parallel.

I am low tech.  I pull a lawn sweeper (with wheel driven brush) behind my ET when mowing.  Rear discharge mower leaves clippings behind, sweeper picks them up.  Does a fair job on leaves and needles, but if the leaf layer is too deep you have to empty every few feet.  I use a blower to move the worst of the leaf litter, then mow and sweep the remainder.

No, the Craftsman can be beat.  And Geo is not the only one that has one of the Elec-Trak E-Z Vac attachments.

I have one of the E-Z vac attachments, but found my version that is like a bagger mounted on the back of the tractor was too small for the volume of leaves I had to deal with.  So I used the blower and a trailer and came up with this rig:

Crude looking because I slapped it together to use as soon as I could.  I never "improved" the installation because it worked and I had other things to do.
