Working on this thing - I really need new batteries - the old T105s are leaking pretty badly around the terminals. Lot's of interesting chemical growths going on. I bought these batteries soon after getting my first E15 - must have been 10 years at least - and I have not been a gentle owner. I think my neighbor has gone through 3 John Deere lawn tractors in that same time.
I do like my NiCDs. Probably a bit less run time than T105's but still nice. I was able to wash 4 cars in a rinse/soap/rinse cycle with my Elec-trak pressure washer before flattening the cells, so they do have pretty good capacity.
Ain't it nice to have something worth working on?
Absolutely. I have an old Craftsman tractor from 1995 and I feel like I am putting welds on top of welds on the mower deck. However the engine still runs, I lent it to my dad and he broke the rod. So I put in a new rod, washed the case out, and it's still running. I can't seem to kill it.
The one thing the E15/20 can't do is pick up leaves, the bagger attachment on the Craftsman cannot be beat.
