(ET) Trouble with my C-185

Looking for help on my C-185.
Tractors runs in Reverse, but not Forward.
I've been fooling with it in neutral with the seat switch engaged.
When I switch to Forward, one of the reed switches kicks in, but pushing 
on the accelerator gives me nothing.
I swapped out a few of the reed switches with some spares I had, but no 
luck.

Not sure if it has anything to do with this problem, but prior when it 
still would run in Forward, I would have to hit my Cruise Control button 
to get it up to higher speeds.
>From a dead stop, it would stay in the first or second speed, until I hit 
>the CC button.
Finally it quit going Forward at all.

Not sure what to try next, and would appreciate any help.
