That's what I was talking about with Nabble - a forum linked to the email 
discussion list.  Go check it out.

It's an archive with a powerful search engine, and it's also a forum front 
end to the electric vehicle discussion list.  Some of our subscribers use 
it 
exclusively and never send an email message directly to the list.

Another listserver front end is gmane.org.
