My backup e15 has perfect steering, alas the reverse speed doesn't work. Instead the "fuel gauge" voltage drops to zero, things start smelling like toast and the tractor slooooowly drives forward. 

This one is a model 26AE15EA serial LP09???199 (can't read the full number on the photo I took). Other than the flow chart for troubleshooting in the users manual, what are the steps for diagnosing/curing this?
