Re: (ET) My new toy

I'm jumping on the "Bash Facebook" (I have to admit I'm jealous of one
man's success like that). As soon as I clicked on the link Google
installed itself and asked if he could become my search tool. It took
several windows of "no" to get rid of that pesky critter.

Amen brother! I am not a luddite, but I refuse to join a network renowned
for security issues just to see an occasional file. I'd suggest posting
single images elsewhere. There is am ET Yahoo group that allows photo
posting for free if you join the group. As suggested below, I do have my
own website just for the purpose of allowing folks to look at (in part) ET
related materials without fee or joining a network. There are free small
web site hosting deals out there.

I get "This content is currently unavailable."

Call me a Luddite if you will, but I don't do social media either. I
don't like the user agreements. With all the bad press FB has been
getting for its alleged privacy violations, more and more people are
joining me and
Reo43 in that position.

Thus, if you want your pictures to be visible to the world, I suggest that
you post them somewhere that DOES NOT require viewers to log in and/or
agree to let large companies harvest their personal data.

IMO, the best place to post them is on your own website that you fully
control.

Many ISPs give their users a modest amount of personal webspace as part of
the package.

If yours doesn't, you can lease a webserver fairly cheaply. Around $5 a
month should do it for a minimal website, and I've seen a few for even
less.

Such a server shouldn't have any spyware unless you install it.

Nearly Free Speech let you pay only for the bandwith and services you use.

They estimate that if you register your domain name with them, a small
website will cost about $22 per year.

Note that I haven't used these guys, they're just one option I discovered
when I last moved my hosting several years ago.

Hope this helps.
