Re: (ET) Power of Elec-trak motors?

Somebody in our local electric car club did what you are proposing, only he used a 3.5HP golf cart motor to power both traction and blades using the existing pully system.  I've not seen it in person, but have seen a video.  He talked like it was almost too powerful with 36v and was considering running it with 24v.  An Alltrax would be a better solution as it would give more run time.

3hp drive motor and 3 1hp mower motors. So for this conversion, get a
3hp sep-ex golfcart type motor for the drive, and another one for the
mower blade. Power the mower with a simple switch, power the drive
with an alltrax controller.
