I've mentioned it before, but I don't think anyone but me has done it-Find the nearest place that does hot dip galvanizing, unbolt everything unboltable from the deck, and give them all the pieces to galvanize. Any pinholes will be filled, the reinforcing angles will get even more firmly attached, and it will never rust again. Some places can even paint it, but there's no real reason to do so. You'll get used to the zinc color in a couple of days. Replace all the old bolts with stainless.
Hm. Is there a problem painting zinc; will normal latex paint stick to it? How does one go about finding a hot dip galvanizing shop? Chris
