Ah-ha! Now that could be an nice upgrade, if it is indeed possible.

I currently sell replacement mechanical timer assemblies, but I'm always 
interested in evaluating other options <looks around for his 'spare time'>.

Totally unrelated, I delivered a fully restored ET at the beginning of 
the week. Looked nice if I do say so myself... seeing the owner mowing 
on a glorious spring day in front of neatly tended flower beds and a 
nice house made it look like one of the GE brochures. I have one picture 
of it on the home page now... and many many pictures of the entire 
building process to post eventually.
