Echoing another response, don't use the marine cycle batteries - you will be disappointed in the battery life.

You could try the Interstate dealer in Kitchener (assuming you are in the Owen Sound end of the Lake Huron/Georgian Bay area).

There appear to be a lot of renewable energy shops (wind turbines and photovoltaics) popping up around Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, and they will need batteries for off-grid installations, so they might be a source for you, or at least point you to a good source closer to you. You want a golf-car battery, 6 volts, preferably a 200-220 amp-hour (Ah) unit, with automotive posts (universal posts if that is all that is available).

If you want to stay with Canadian Tire, the closest thing they have appears to be the Exide 6V Renewable Energy battery, which looks like a golf-car package with 150 Ah at the 6-hour rate, so probably around 200 Ah at the 20-hour rate (CTC product number 10-2010-0 - plug that into their search box on their Web site). Currently lists at Cdn$119.99.
