Congrats on the purchase.

Don't use deep cycle marine batteries. They will not last. You want Golf 
Cart batteries.

If you have a Sam's Club, they have golf cart batteries (Costco doesn't 
seem to carry them). Last I checked (in VA, USA) they were $60-something 
US. They are re-branded and come from different manufacturers. I have 
not used them, but others have and I think results are mostly positive. 
Certainly cost effective.

Battery prices have really gone up in the past year. I was going to buy 
a set this year, but decided to baby mine a bit more in hopes that lead 
prices (and hence battery prices) go down.
