     You can purchase a circuit breaker to replace SFE style fuses at 
most auto parts stores. A 30 A breaker will still provide adequate 
wiring protection and will usually open under short cycling before the 
thermal limiter in the lift motor will.{And you won't have to replace 
the fuse any more if you get forgetful  and leave your finger on the 
switch.  :) }
