Re: (ET) Broken again - ziploc bags and digital pictures - other ideas anyone ?

One simple idea (but easier said than done...):

I made a (rare for me) New Year's resolution that this year I would finish old projects (whether by completion or elimination) before starting new ones. Emergencies are excepted, of course. If I have a great idea, or something interesting pops up, I'll write it down so I can come back to it later. With two kids under 5, 3 cars (one old), house, yard, dog, etc, etc. I finally got tired of having dusty piles of stuff waiting for me.

Wish me luck. I may need a support group! ;^)

Thank you to the many guys (David Roden & others) who have made me feel less
alone:

I get many projects done in only a week ... of total days ... but, those 5
to 7 days are spread far apart ... over many years ... <grin>

I buy my ziploc bags in the 1000 pack now ... (3*5 size for small parts,
resistors, capacitors, nuts, bolts, etc).
I cut down (1/4" off 1 end & 1 side) 100 3*5 cards at a time to slide inside the bags, which makes the bags stand up library card file style, in shallow drawers and stockroom bins ... easy to label & find when it is suddenly a crisis to fix something ... problem now is that, with many hundreds of bags, there are too many to go through to find the one(s) that match the project
...

And I now also take digital pictures of things such as Comuta-Car dash panel
& contactor wiring, Elec-Trak wiring, etc.

Any one else have suggestions for keeping all the projects juggling at the
same time ?

Almost everything gets done eventually, but it often takes years. By that
time sometimes I've lost the hardware and have to go out and buy new.
Somewhere in my garage the gremlins have a huge stash of ziplock bags with rusty nuts and bolts in them, and they're hiding in the corners laughing
at
me.
...In recent years I've been snapping digital photos instead.
That way at least I have some general idea of where to find them.
